Why This Site Exists
Most travel content built for Muslim travellers focuses on volume: long lists of "halal-friendly" hotels with little verification behind the label. Most luxury travel content ignores the question entirely. The Sakina Resorts sits in the gap between the two: real five-star properties, assessed against the criteria that actually matter to a Muslim traveller, with the same honesty a luxury guest expects from any other review.
We cover one thing, deliberately: resorts that get the fundamentals right for a Muslim traveller planning a five-star trip. We don't cover budget travel, backpacking, or properties we haven't checked directly. If it isn't luxury and it isn't verified, it isn't in scope.
How We Work
Every resort is assessed against the same six criteria, whether the stay was booked and paid for ourselves, or offered by the property. Halal food, beach and pool accessibility, privacy, spa gender separation, prayer facilities, and alcohol policy. The full methodology is documented on the homepage under The Sakina Standard.
Comped stays are always disclosed, and the property never gets a say in the assessment or the wording. If that condition isn't accepted, we don't do the review.
Claims are verified, not assumed. Where we can't confirm something directly with the resort, we say so explicitly, rather than guessing or copying it from a brochure. "Halal-friendly" on this site means a property welcomes and accommodates Muslim guests, not that it holds formal halal certification, unless we state otherwise with evidence.
